CHAKRAS OR ENERGY CENTERS
Chakras are energy centers that run from the base of your spine out the top, or crown, of your head. The word chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disc. There are seven major chakras, each a wheel of light spinning within your body. Each chakra is associated with certain body parts, body functions, color, stone, and element. By learning to tune into the energy of your chakras, you become aware of any blockages and begin to heal and balance your body. Once your body is balanced you are able to embrace the fullness of who you truly are.
1st Chakra

Root Chakra - located at the base of your spine
COLOR: Red
SIGNIFIES: Earth element
TONING SOUND: UH (low)
PURPOSE: The awareness of movement, tension, anxiety and/or insecurity. The root chakra serves the body's survival instincts and self-esteem and self-preservation. The first chakra represents your place in society, social order, security and family ties.
EMOTIONAL CORRELATION: How we identify with the material world and our success, self power. Our ability to master our physical surroundings and physical body. It shows our courage and how we handle family beliefs, physical pleasure, sexuality, pain or touch. It also shows our level of loyalty and superstition. symptoms of non-balance might include listlessness, repression, dependency, lack of self-worth.
PHYSICAL CORRELATION: Anemia, circulation, constipation, hormones, heart muscle, sore muscles, , spinal column, colon, rectum, legs, feet, bones and immune system.

2nd Chakra

COLOR: Orange
LOCATED: The abdomen below the navel
SIGNIFIES: Water element
TONING SOUND: OOO
PURPOSE: Creativity, sexuality, digestion of food, kidneys, physical strength and vitality, The yin/yang of giving and receiving, letting go of emotions, , pleasurable experiences, love making, changing circumstances. This chakra also represents our state of health, family, tolerance levels, harmony, and ability to surrender to ourselves. When blocked, you often feel stuck.
EMOTIONAL CORRELATION: Being hard on oneself, setting of boundaries, bullying, sarcastic, sexual difficulties or over-indulgence in sex, feeling of lack of purpose, low energy, jealousy, envy, blame, money, guilt, sexual power, controlling behaviors and patterns, addiction, feeling of emotion.
PHYSICAL CORRELATION: Asthma, colds, sciatica, female conditions, cramps, pelvic pain, sexual drive, emotional connection with sex organs, urinary difficulties, ovaries, testicles, prostate, genitals, spleen, womb and bladder, stomach, digestion, upper intestines, liver, gallbladder, kidney, pancreas, spleen, middle spine, and blood sugar.

PURPOSE: To define our self-esteem which feeds our intuition and gut instincts. This is the personality that we developed during our youth. It is also known as our "ego" chakra. We use this chakra to help us gain our own personal power and self-love. This chakra also represents our mental understanding of our emotions.
EMOTIONAL CORRELATION: Lack of self esteem, self-image and self-judgment, fear of rejection, over-sensitivity to criticism, fears of others knowing our secrets, self sabotage, need to be needed, lack of will power, depression, slow learning, stubbornness, don't share real emotions, inability to make decisions and not trusting our intuition and gut instincts.
PHYSICAL CORRELATION: Stomach, small and large intestines, diabetes, digestion, indigestion, nerves, lymph, ulcers, respiration.

PURPOSE: This is our love center. Anything that affects our emotional heart, self-love. This is where the "wounded child" lives, personal and emotional empowerment, forgiveness and understanding. Confidence. Compassion, trust, unconditional love. Letting go of old hurt and pain. Acceptance with openness.With focus, love brings about healing.
EMOTIONAL CORRELATION: Procrastination, lack of compassion, trust issues, intolerance, inflexibility, lack of responsiveness, heart problems, controlling the hearts of others, repressing feelings of love.
PHYSICAL CORRELATION: Heart, breasts, lungs, upper back, shoulder injuries, reduces blood pressure, insomnia, thymus, allergies.

Throat Chakra - located at your throat and neck.
COLOR:Sky Blue
LOCATED: Throat and neck. The center of our will.
SIGNIFIES: Akashic or Etheric element

PURPOSE: Related to truth, independence and responsibility for self. This chakra empowers the individual to turn to their personal strength, to find your voice and allow divine strength and will. This chakra represents the ability to speak up, be truthful, self-knowledge, and our attitudes. This is where our personal expression and creativity are released.
EMOTIONAL CORRELATION: The 5th Chakra tells how honestly we express ourselves, communication issues, depression, creativity blockage, dishonesty, spreading oneself to thin, low self esteem, lack of spontaneity,

6 th Chakra

Brow Chakra or Third Eye
COLOR:Indigo (Dark Blue)
LOCATED: Between the eyebrows
SIGNIFIES: Light element

PURPOSE: Where we develop insight and ideas, this is our reality check-point to keep our mind open and free. This is where we get clarity; a clear picture. May be accompanied with clairvoyance, intuition, concentration and imagination.
EMOTIONAL CORRELATION: Others are more important, giving too much, tries to hard to please, mental and nervous disorders, indecision, apathy, lack of motivation. Often referred to as our "mind center" or "third eye." This is where we gain our wisdom from our experiences, then putting these insights into perspective. This is where we separate fantasy from reality. It is through an open brow chakra that our visual images are received.
PHYSICAL CORRELATION: Eyes and ears, toxins, deafness, stop bleeding, insanity, body regulation, utilization of minerals, epilepsy, nervous system, headaches, depression, strokes, panic, lack of concentration.

7th Chakra

PURPOSE: This is our "God or Universal Source." How we receive communication from the universe into our physical body. This is our spiritual connection; living in the present. Also represents intuition and your inner knowledge. Integrating all of life into our own lives. This is where we get our ability to serve others, humanitarianism. The 7th chakra is used as a tool to communicate with our spirit. This chakra represents the gate through which life force travels from God Source and gets distributed into the lower 6 chakras. It is often pictured as a lotus flower opening up to our enlightenment.
EMOTIONAL CORRELATION: Sensitivity to light, sensitivity to sound and over-sensitivity to the environment, exhaustion, guilt, think they deserve but don't know how to accomplish without appearing selfish, scattered attention.
PHYSICAL CORRELATION: Cerebral cortex (the outer part of the brain), central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), blood purification, muscular and skeletal system, skin.
