Animals respond to energy in a very natural and honest way. They do not overthink or question what they feel; they simply experience it.
Over the years, I have worked with dogs, cats, and horses, and each time I am reminded how open and receptive they are to Reiki. They recognize the energy immediately and meet it in their own quiet way.
In my own space, my cats and dogs are often part of the sessions. They are not just present; they choose to be there. During Reiki circles or private sessions, they will come closer, settle in, and at times even lay on the table between a client’s legs, completely at ease within the energy that is being shared. It is always a gentle and natural interaction, never forced, always guided by their comfort.
Animals have a way of bringing an added sense of calm and grounding into the session. Their presence often deepens the experience, both for themselves and for the person receiving Reiki.
Animal Reiki offers support on a physical, emotional, and energetic level. It can help with relaxation, reduce stress, and create a sense of balance and ease. Each session is guided by the animal, at their own pace, in their own way.
It is not something we ask them to do; it is something they choose to receive.
